In YokmoK we love to travel with our children and we’ve done it since they were very young. Traveling with babies and small children requires lots of patience and affection, otherwise it is something completely normal.

We are going to try to see some basic aspects that you can solve the doubts that you have if you have thought to face a flight with babies or small children.

From what age can my baby fly?

In principle there is no minimum age to fly. Some companies will require medical authorization if the baby is less than 7 days old.

How much does the ticket cost for a child under two years old?

It will depend on the company we choose, although it is not true that they pay nothing. At least they will pay the air taxes and many companies will charge you 10% of what is worth an adult ticket.

That implies that children under two years of age do not have the right to own seat and travel in the arms of their parents. For this purpose they are given a life jacket and a special belt.

What documentation does my baby need to fly?

To fly in Europe is enough with the Family Book, although there are countries where you need the DNI or passport.

The requirements for obtaining the DNI of a minor are:

If you want to get the passport too, you will need:

  • DNI of the minor
  • Family book
  • 1 Picture in White background
  • To be accompanied by a parent with a DNI

Can I bring the baby’s food and utensils to change in mid-flight?

There is no problem in uploading everything necessary to the plane. You can carry the milk or small potion as hand luggage and can always be heated in the plane. For safety checks, you should not worry about whether the potito or milk have a volume greater than the 100 ml allowed. The same goes for the hygiene products needed to change the baby.
