Day 1 – Pont-de-Nant

Meet at 15h30 hours at the Geneva Airport. From here we go to the Swiss Canton of Valais. It is a great opportunity to get a first glance of the Swiss Alps and contemplate  Lake Leman.

We arrive at the first refuge by car. It is located in the middle of Nant Valley, in which 40% of Helvetic flora is concentrated. In front of us we have Plan Névé glacier, and the summit of Gran Muverans. Here we check our equipment, we get an idea of how the group works in the mountain and we analyze the route that will occupy the next five days. We end the day with a nice dinner in the refuge.

• Day 1 – Meet at Geneva and transfer to Pont-de-Nant.

Days 2 & 3 – Hiking through the Muverans and thermal baths

We start our adventure in the Alps. On this first day of walking we start to get familiarized with the terrain. We take it easy for four and a half hours. We arrive to the next refuge to spend the night. On the third day we get up early so we are able to do the demanding seven and a half hours of marching. At once we pick up altitude, getting to 2,547 meters (8,356 feet) in the Forcla Pass, with incredible views of the Rhone Valley, and Central Alps. At the end of the evening  we arrive to the town of Ovronnaz – with its thermal baths, with outdoor swimming pools facing the Alpine Massif. We give our legs the rest that they deserve.

• Day 2 – From refuge to refuge through the Muverans, 4h30 marching.
• Day 3 – From refuge to Ovronnaz thermal baths, 7h30 marching.

Days 4 & 5 & 6 – Hiking through the Muverans and Nant Natural Reserve

On the mountain everyday is a new adventure. We leave Ovronnaz through the Crête Forest. On this stage we go up the highest slope of the tour, about 1,200 meters (3,937 feet), arriving at 2,460 metes (8,097 feet) in Fenestral Pass. From there until the refuge we maintain this high altitude. Walking through this natural balcony, we arrive to the refuge situated at 2,400 meters (7,874 feet). The next day we go on, always above 2,000 meters (6,561 feet). We have an aero pass that, in case of bad weather, we will have to abandon to continue on another less dangerous path.

Breakfast on the last day will be early, to take advantage of the morning. After a pass at 2,544 meters (8,346 feet) we descend to Valley of Nant Natural Reserve. Our adventure ends on arrival to Pont-de-Nant. From there we go to Geneva airport, arriving at about 14 hours, where we bid farewell  until our next adventure together.
